Pinot Bianco

Pinot Bianco, DOC Collio

This highly valued vine grows in a hilly zone, perfectly acclimatized to Collio. It is cultivated in a ventilated area, on marly soil. It produces small and compact bunches with rounded fruits, golden-yellow in color. After a manual harvest, soft pressing is followed by a brief period of aeration with no presence of sulfur dioxide. The wine remains on its yeast for 8 months. The wine is straw-yellow in color with a notable clarity, intense floral bouquet, with cherry and apple blossom accents. Pinot Bianco is a dry, warm, elegant, intense and very fresh wine.

2006 Vintage Reviews

“The Pinot Bianco has often been one of my favorite wines in the range and the 2006 is a strong effort. Made in a somewhat understated style, it reveals flowers, mint, licorice and white peaches on a delicately-textured medium-bodied frame of notable finesse.” 90 Wine Advocate, October 2007

2005 Vintage Reviews
“Aromas of dried apple and honey, with hints of nutmeg. Full-bodied and intensely minerally, with lovely fruit, fresh acidity and a long finish.” 91 Wine Spectator, March 2007
