Enrico Santini: Tuscany, Italy

After only a handful of vintages Enrico Santini has made a name for himself as one of the most dynamic and respected new producers in Bolgheri.  In the midst of Bolgheri’s larger estates, Santini is a true “garagiste” in the region, with only 13 hectares of vineyards and having transformed his garage and the basement of his home to a winery.  A native of Bolgheri, from the village of Castagneto Carducci, he produces limited quantities of blends from separately vinified varietals.  All the wines come from his own organically farmed estate vineyards.

“We are delighted to welcome Enrico Santini to the ranks of our Three Glass winners. After only three harvests, this very talented winemaker from Bolgheri has hit the bull’s eye that had us sitting up in our seats.” Gambero Rosso 2004 Guide

“In just a few years Enrico Santini has emerged as one of Bolgheri’s most promising producers. The wines are made with the assistance of consulting oenologist Attilio Pagli and are likely to get even better as these organically farmed vineyards gain age. This is another of the new, young estates that will be fascinating to follow over the next few years.”
